QƏBƏLƏ, Azerbaijan (Interstat) — Qarabağ Ağdam FK visits Qəbələ on Saturday in a Premyer Liqa matchup that pits the league’s dominant force against a home side desperate to reverse a season-long slide.

The game is scheduled for May 9, 2026, at Qəbələ’s home ground.

Qarabağ enters as the clear favorite. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for the visitors, a scoreline that mirrors the most recent meeting between the two clubs. On Dec. 21, 2025, Qarabağ defeated Qəbələ 2-1 in Ağdam.

Qarabağ’s form has been impressive but not flawless. The club is coming off a 2-1 loss at Neftçi PFK on April 30, a result that snapped a three-match winning streak. Prior to that setback, Qarabağ had routed Neftçi 5-1 on April 26, demolished Karvan 7-0 on April 6 and overpowered Araz-Naxçıvan PFK 6-0 on March 8. The team has also posted narrow wins, including 1-0 decisions against İmişli FK (Feb. 14) and Turan (Feb. 1).

However, Qarabağ has shown vulnerability. It lost 1-0 to Sabah FK on April 18 and played to a 3-3 draw against the same opponent on March 1. The club’s overall record in its past 10 league matches shows seven wins, one draw and two defeats.

Qəbələ, by contrast, is in poor form. The home side lost 1-0 at Zirə FK on May 3, its fourth defeat in five matches. Over that five-game stretch, Qəbəlė has managed just one point, a 1-1 draw against Araz-Naxçıvan PFK on April 25.

The team’s offensive struggles have been pronounced. Qəbəlė has scored only two goals in its past six matches, while conceding 14. The low point came in a 7-1 loss at Sabah FK on March 10. Qəbəlė has also lost to Neftçi PFK (2-1 on March 15) and İmişli FK (1-0 on April 12) during that span.

Defensively, Qəbəlė has kept only two clean sheets this season: a 0-0 draw against Genclerbirliyi Sumqayıt on Feb. 20 and a 1-0 win over Karvan on Feb. 28.

Saturday’s match marks the second league meeting between the clubs this season, both won by Qarabağ by identical 2-1 scorelines.
