ABU DHABI (Interstat) — Al Wasl SC defeated Al Jazira SCC 2-1 on Monday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in an Arabian Gulf League match. Nabil Fekir put Al Wasl ahead in the 36th minute. Siaka Sidibé equalized for Al Jazira in the 64th minute. Fábio Lima scored the winner in the 89th minute. The match featured eight yellow cards, issued to Nicolás Giménez, Khalifa Al Hammadi, Marcus Meloni, Malek Janeer, Nabil Fekir, M’Hammed Rabii, Renato Tapia and Fábio Lima. Al Wasl improved its league record to 12 wins, five losses and six draws. Al Jazira fell to 11 wins, seven losses and four draws. Al Wasl had won the previous meeting between the teams 1-0 in January and entered on a four-match winning streak in league play, while Al Jazira had lost two of its last three.
