COBURG, Germany (Interstat) — FC Coburg hosts Ingolstadt II on Saturday, May 2, in an Oberliga matchup that pits a struggling home side against a visiting team still smarting from recent defeats.

The game kicks off at an undetermined time at Coburg’s home ground.

FC Coburg enters the contest after a 4-2 loss at Fortuna Regensburg on April 24. That defeat extended a difficult stretch for the home side, which has lost four of its last five matches. On April 21, Coburg earned a 5-3 win at FSV Stadeln 1958, but followed that with a 2-1 loss at Neudrossenfeld on April 17 and a 5-0 home defeat to TSV Kornburg on April 11. Other recent results include a 2-0 loss at Eltersdorf on April 6 and a 2-0 home defeat to Gebenbach on April 2.

Coburg’s form over the past month has been inconsistent at best. The team managed a 1-1 draw at Cham on March 27 and a 2-1 loss to Wurzburger FV on March 21 before a 2-0 win at ATSV Erlangen on March 13. A 4-0 home victory over Bayern Hof on March 7 and a 1-1 draw with Aubstadt on Dec. 8, 2025, round out the recent record.

Ingolstadt II, meanwhile, comes off a 2-1 loss to Borussia M’gladbach on April 26. That result followed a 3-0 win at Hoffenheim on April 25 and a 1-0 victory over TSV Kornburg on the same day. However, the visiting side has also struggled with consistency. On April 18, Ingolstadt II lost 1-0 at Osnabruck, and on April 11, it fell 3-2 at Gebenbach and lost 4-1 at home to R-W Essen. A 2-1 defeat at Viktoria Koln on April 8 was followed by a 3-0 win at Cham on April 6, a 1-0 loss at Saarbrucken on April 5, a 1-0 win at Bochum on April 5, and a 4-1 loss at Wurzburger FV on April 2.

The most recent head-to-head meeting was a lopsided affair: Ingolstadt II defeated FC Coburg 7-1 on Oct. 19, 2025.
