VfB Homberg vs Hilden

SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2026 (Interstat) — OBERLIGA PREVIEW

DUISBURG, Germany (Interstat) — VfB Homberg will host Hilden on Sunday in an Oberliga clash that pits a streaking visitor against a home side seeking consistency.

Hilden arrives riding a 10-match winning streak, its last loss dating to Dec. 12, 2025 (Interstat) — a 1-0 defeat at the hands of St. Tönis 11/20. Since then, Hilden has outscored opponents 32-6, including a 2-1 victory over FC Büderich on April 12, its most recent outing. The streak features five clean sheets and road wins at SV Biemenhorst (5-1), SF Baumberg (4-0), Meerbusch (5-0), Schonnebeck (1-0) and Germania Ratingen (2-1).

Hilden’s attack has been balanced, with four matches of four or more goals during the run. The defense has been equally stingy, allowing more than one goal only once in that span.

VfB Homberg (1-1-4 in its last six) will counter after a 1-0 win over DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop on April 19. That result snapped a two-match losing skid that included a 3-0 home defeat to St. Tönis and a 2-1 loss at S-W Essen. Homberg’s season has been marked by tight contests: five of its last eight matches have been decided by one goal or ended in a draw.

Homberg’s only other victory in April came April 12, a 3-0 shutout at Holzheimer SG. The team has struggled to maintain offensive pressure, scoring two or more goals only twice in its past 10 outings.

The matchup is part of the Oberliga Niederrhein, the fifth tier of German football.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, reflecting the contrast between Hilden’s relentless form and Homberg’s home resilience. Homberg will rely on its defense to contain a Hilden side that has not lost since early December.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time at the PCC-Stadion in Duisburg.
