(Interstat) — Three players earned assists, though neither side could convert them into goals. Substitute Khaled Awad recorded an assist in the 64th minute, midfielder Arnold Eba followed with an assist in the 68th minute, and substitute Ahmed Alaa Eldin added another in second-half stoppage time. Each player also received a yellow card, with Awad’s caution coming at 64 minutes, Eba’s at 68 and Alaa Eldin’s at 90-plus-4.

Both teams opened their seasons with a draw, leaving Modern SC and Tala’ea El Gaish each at 0-0-1 in both league play and all competitions.

The result came despite pregame projections favoring the host side. Modern SC was given a 66.60 percent win probability by Interstat’s ELO system, which had forecast a 2-1 victory. Instead, neither team could find the net in the Egyptian Premier League opener.
