Muhanga vs Bugesera FC

MUHANGA, Rwanda (Interstat) — Muhanga hosts Bugesera FC on Sunday, May 3, in a National Soccer League match that carries contrasting momentum for two sides trending in opposite directions.

Muhanga enters the game mired in a three-match losing streak, having fallen to Gorilla FC 2-1 on April 25, Gicumbi FC 2-0 on April 18 and APR FC 1-0 on April 5. The home side has managed just two wins in its past 10 league fixtures – a 2-1 victory over Mukura on March 15 and a 2-1 decision against Rutsiro on Feb. 21 – and has been outscored 13-7 in that span. Muhanga’s most recent head-to-head win over Bugesera came Oct. 25, a 1-0 decision on their own pitch.

Bugesera FC arrives in better form despite a 3-0 loss April 26 to El Merreikh SC Omdurman in what was likely a non-league friendly. In league play, the visitors had won four straight before that defeat: beating Police 1-0 on April 19, AS Kigali FC 2-0 on March 21, Gasogi United FC 1-0 on March 14 and Kiyovu Sports 2-1 on March 7. Bugesera has lost only twice in its last 11 league matches and has shown defensive discipline, posting clean sheets in five of those contests.

Sunday’s matchup, organized by the National Soccer League, features a projected draw from Interstat’s game simulator: Muhanga 1, Bugesera FC 1.

For Muhanga, halting the slide at home will require sharper finishing after being held to one goal or fewer in five of its last six outings. Bugesera will aim to return to its winning ways behind a balanced attack that has produced goals from multiple contributors during its recent surge.

Kickoff is set for Sunday at Muhanga Stadium.
