KIGALI, Rwanda (Interstat) — The top two teams in the Rwanda National Soccer League will meet Saturday when first-place APR FC visits second-place Rayon Sports at a venue to be determined in the capital.

APR FC (20-4-6) enters the match unbeaten in six consecutive league games. The army-backed club last lost in league play Feb. 20. APR defeated Mukura 3-0 on April 25 behind a dominant performance and has allowed just two goals over its past five league matches.

Rayon Sports (18-5-7) bounced back from a scoreless draw against Rutsiro by defeating Amagaju FC 2-0 on Sunday. The Blues have lost only twice in league play since Feb. 5, posting eight victories and five draws in that span.

Saturday’s match features a significant head-to-head disparity. APR defeated Rayon Sports 3-0 on Nov. 8, 2025, in their most recent meeting. That result marked the second consecutive victory for APR over their Kigali rivals.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw.

APR’s defense has been formidable throughout the season. Goalkeeping and back-line organization have yielded clean sheets in four of the club’s past six league outings. The team’s offense has been balanced, with contributions from multiple positions.

Rayon Sports has shown resilience at home. The Blues have not lost in league play at their home ground since Feb. 28 and have conceded only one goal in their past four home matches.

The match carries significant implications for the league table. A victory for APR would strengthen its hold on first place with the season entering its final weeks. A Rayon Sports win would pull the Blues within striking distance of the top spot.
