Gorilla FC vs Police
KIGALI, Rwanda (Interstat) — Police FC visits Gorilla FC on Friday in a National Soccer League matchup that pits a resurgent visiting side against a home team seeking to reverse a lopsided recent history.
The game, scheduled for May 1, 2026, marks the second meeting between the clubs this season. Police won the first 4-0 on Jan. 3 at Gorilla’s home ground, a result that highlighted the defensive struggles of the hosts.
Police enter the contest on the back of a 2-0 victory over Marine FC on April 25. That win snapped a two-match winless streak that included a 1-0 loss to Bugesera FC on April 19 and a 2-1 defeat at Amagaju FC on April 4. Overall, Police have struggled for consistency this season, compiling a record of three wins, three draws and four losses in their last 10 matches across all competitions. Their most recent clean sheet came against Marine, but they have been held scoreless in three of their past five outings.
Gorilla FC, meanwhile, are coming off a 2-1 victory at Muhanga on April 25 – only their second win in 11 matches. That result followed a 2-1 loss at Gasogi United on April 17 and a 1-0 win at Gicumbi on March 21. Gorilla have not won consecutive games since late December and have lost six of their last nine. Their offense has managed just nine goals in that stretch, while conceding 15.
The head-to-head history favors Police. The Jan. 3 defeat marked the fourth time in the last five meetings that Gorilla failed to score against Police. The visiting side have kept clean sheets in three of their last four encounters overall.
An Interstat game simulator projects a 1-0 Police victory, a margin that would reflect both teams’ recent offensive struggles and Police’s slight defensive edge. Police goalkeeper and back line will be tested by a Gorilla side that has shown occasional flashes of creativity, particularly on the counterattack.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time at an undetermined venue in Kigali. The match is part of the National Soccer League’s regular-season schedule, with playoff and relegation implications still fluid late in the campaign.
