Marine FC vs Gasogi United FC
KIGALI, Rwanda (Interstat) — Marine FC will host Gasogi United FC on Friday, May 1, 2026, in a National Soccer League matchup that Interstat’s game simulator projects as a 1-0 home victory.
Marine enters the contest following a 2-0 loss at Police on April 25, a result that snapped a two-match unbeaten run. Before that defeat, Marine drew 1-1 at Al Hilal SC Omdurman on April 4 and lost 1-0 at AS Kigali FC on April 17. The club’s form this season has been uneven – a 3-1 win over Mukura on March 21 was followed by a 1-1 draw at Gorilla FC on March 15, a 2-1 victory at Kiyovu Sports on March 10, and a 2-2 draw with APR FC on March 7. Marine also suffered a 5-3 home loss to Rutsiro on Feb. 28, while drawing with Gicumbi (1-1), El Merreikh SC Omdurman (1-1) and Amagaju FC (1-1) earlier in the campaign. Overall, Marine has two wins, four draws and one loss in its last seven league matches.
Gasogi United arrives buoyed by a 2-1 road victory over Gorilla FC on April 17, ending a five-match winless streak. Prior to that, Gasogi lost 3-0 at Rayon Sports on March 22, fell 1-0 at Bugesera FC on March 14, drew 0-0 at Rutsiro on March 7, and drew 1-1 at El Merreikh SC Omdurman on Feb. 27. The club’s deeper record shows inconsistency – a 1-0 loss at Amagaju FC on Feb. 23, a 1-1 draw at Mukura on Feb. 15, and a 1-1 draw at Muhanga on Feb. 8. Gasogi’s only other win this season came on Jan. 12, a 2-1 result at Gorilla FC, but the team has also suffered heavy defeats (3-0 at Musanze FC on Jan. 2) and draws (1-1 at AS Kigali on Dec. 26, 2025).
In the most recent head-to-head meeting on Dec. 6, 2025, Marine won 2-0 at home. That result ended a run of two previous encounters – all league matches – in which the sides had traded wins.
Friday’s game marks a critical point for both clubs as they jostle for position in the Rwanda top flight. Marine will look to rebound from its Police defeat and exploit home advantage, while Gasogi United seeks its first back-to-back wins of the season. The simulator’s projection of a narrow Marine victory reflects marginal home favoritism, but recent form suggests Gasogi United’s road win at Gorilla could inject needed momentum. Kickoff is scheduled for Friday evening at Marine’s home ground.
