Anderlecht vs Union St-Gilloise

BRUSSELS (Interstat) — Anderlecht hosts Union St-Gilloise on Sunday, April 26, in a Belgian First Division A matchup that could tighten the title race.

Union St-Gilloise enters the game riding a long unbeaten streak. The visitors drew 0-0 at Gent on Wednesday, April 22, their most recent result. Prior to that, Union beat Club Brugge 2-1 on April 19 and defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 on the same day in European competition. Over their last 10 league games, Union has posted eight wins, one draw and one loss, outscoring opponents 14-4.

Anderlecht, by contrast, lost 2-0 at Sint-Truiden on Thursday, April 23. That defeat snapped a two-game winning streak. Earlier in April, Anderlecht beat Mechelen 2-1 on April 18 and defeated Gent 3-1 on April 12. However, the home side has been inconsistent: before the win over Gent, Anderlecht lost 4-2 at Club Brugge on April 6 and drew 2-2 at Club Brugge on March 8. Overall, Anderlecht has four wins, two draws and four losses in its last 10 league matches.

The head-to-head history favors Union. In their most recent meeting Nov. 30, 2025, Anderlecht won 1-0 at home. But Union won the previous matchup Aug. 31, 2025, by a 2-0 scoreline at home. Those results split the season series 1-1.

Interstat’s game simulator projects Union St-Gilloise to win 3-1. Interstat’s ELO system gives Union an 81.00 percent probability of victory.

Both teams also will meet in the Belgian Cup on Thursday, May 14, at Union’s home ground, adding extra stakes to Sunday’s league contest.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. local time at Lotto Park.
