Wiener SC vs Rapid

VIENNA (Interstat) — Wiener SC hosts Rapid on Saturday in a 2. Frauenliga matchup, with the visitors looking to extend their dominance in the series and maintain a strong push up the league table.

Rapid enters the May 2 contest unbeaten in its last 10 league matches, going 9-0-1 since early November. The team’s most recent result was a 1-1 draw at home against USC Landhaus on April 25, a result that snapped a nine-game winning streak. In that stretch, Rapid outscored opponents 31-3, including a 4-0 victory over Wiener SC on Oct. 11 in the reverse fixture.

Overall, Rapid has posted a 9-1-0 record in its last 10 league outings, with the only blemishes being the draw and a 3-2 loss at Wacker Innsbruck on Nov. 2. Key wins include a 3-0 decision at Grazer AK 1902 on April 4 and a 7-0 thrashing of LUV Graz on March 28.

Wiener SC, meanwhile, is in the middle of a difficult stretch. The team has lost five of its last six matches, with the lone win coming against Kraig on Feb. 15. Most recently, Wiener SC fell 4-0 at Austria Klagenfurt on April 26, a defeat that extended its goal drought to two games. The club has scored just one goal in its last three outings and has managed only three wins all season.

The last head-to-head meeting on Oct. 11 saw Rapid dominate possession and fire four unanswered goals. The result continued Rapid’s recent mastery, having won each of the last three encounters by a combined score of 11-0.

Wiener SC’s offensive struggles are underlined by its 0-4-1 record in the last five games, with the only goal coming in a 1-1 draw against SPG Geretsberg on Nov. 8. Defensively, the team has conceded 17 goals in that span.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the forecast favors Rapid with a projected 2-0 victory. The model is based on historical performance, recent form and head-to-head data.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Wiener SC’s home ground. Both teams are expected to field their top lineups. Rapid will be without midfielder Anna Huber, who is serving a one-match suspension for yellow-card accumulation. No injuries were reported for Wiener SC.

Saturday’s fixture marks the second and final regular-season meeting between the two sides. With the season winding down, every point matters for both clubs (Interstat) — Rapid aiming for promotion, Wiener SC fighting to climb out of the bottom half of the table.
