Sporting Trestina vs Prato
TRESTINA, Italy (Interstat) — Sporting Trestina hosts Prato on Sunday in a Serie D matchup that pits a home side desperate to end a winless run against a visitor riding a five-match victory streak.
Prato (10-3-2 in its last 15, according to available results) enters the April 26 fixture at Stadio Comunale after a 1-0 win at Grosseto on April 19. The victory extended Prato’s winning streak to five, following shutout wins over Foligno (2-0), Seravezza (1-0), GSD Ghiviborgo (3-0) and San Don Tavarnelle (1-0). The only blemish in the past six matches was a 3-3 draw with Siena on March 15.
Sporting Trestina, meanwhile, has not won since March 1, a 1-0 result at Tau Altopascio. Since then, the home side has drawn five of six matches, including a 1-1 result at Sansepolcro on April 19. That deadlock followed a 1-1 tie with Follon Gavorrano on April 12 and a 0-0 draw at Terra Traiana on April 3. The only loss in that span came Feb. 8 at Grosseto (2-1).
The teams last met Dec. 14, when Prato won 2-1 at home. Prato has won the past two head-to-head meetings, according to available data.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, while its ELO system gives Prato a 55.20 percent probability of victory. Sporting Trestina’s recent inability to finish games – five draws in six matches – suggests a low-scoring affair.
Prato’s defense has been stout, allowing two goals in the past five matches and posting four clean sheets in that stretch. Sporting Trestina has scored only three goals in its past six games, all but one of them draws.
Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday.
