Cursl-Neuengamme vs Sasel

HAMBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Sasel visits Cursl-Neuengamme on Saturday in an Oberliga matchup that pits one of the league’s more potent attacks against a home side mired in a deep slump.

The game is scheduled for April 25 at Cursl-Neuengamme’s home ground.

The teams met just six months ago, and the result was lopsided. Sasel routed Cursl-Neuengamme 9-1 on Nov. 2, 2025, a result that underscored the gulf in form between the two sides.

Sasel enters Saturday’s contest looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss at Dassendorf on April 19. That defeat snapped a stretch of three games without a loss for Sasel, which had drawn 1-1 with Hamburg-Eimsbutteler BC on April 12 and beaten Suderelbe 3-1 on April 3.

Sasel’s season has been marked by inconsistency. The team has scored freely at times — including a 5-4 win over Vorwarts-Wacker on March 6 — but has also been prone to heavy defeats, such as a 5-1 loss to Buchholz on March 24 and a 4-0 loss at ETSV Hamburg on March 15. Sasel’s overall record shows a mixed bag of results, with recent wins against Harksheide (2-1 on March 20) and Niendorfer TSV (3-2 on March 4) balanced by draws with SSG Nikola Tesla (4-4 on March 29) and Victoria Hamburg (2-2 on Feb. 27).

Cursl-Neuengamme’s struggles have been more pronounced. The home side lost 2-0 at Vorwarts-Wacker on April 19, its seventh defeat in its last 10 matches. The team has not won since a 2-2 draw at Suderelbe on April 14 — a result that snapped a seven-game losing streak.

That skid included lopsided losses: 7-0 to Eimsbuetteler on March 24, 7-0 to Buchholz on March 15, 5-1 to Niendorfer TSV on March 29, and 4-0 defeats to Victoria Hamburg (April 11) and Paloma (March 7). Cursl-Neuengamme has also been shut out in seven of its last 10 games.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 4-2 victory for Sasel. The service’s ELO system gives Sasel a 76.50 percent probability of winning.
