Gievenbeck vs R-W Ahlen

GIEVENBECK, Germany (Interstat) — Gievenbeck will look to build on an inconsistent spring campaign when it hosts R-W Ahlen on Sunday in an Oberliga match, with a computer simulation projecting a 2-1 victory for the home side.

Gievenbeck enters the contest at home following a 1-0 loss at ET Rheine on Wednesday. That result snapped a brief run of form for Gievenbeck, which had scored four goals in a 4-1 win at Türkspor Dortmund 2000 on April 19. The team has shown offensive firepower at times this season, including a 4-2 victory over Vreden on April 2, but has also struggled to maintain consistency. Gievenbeck’s results over the past two months have been a mix: a 3-2 loss at Ennepetal on April 6, a 3-2 defeat at home to SG Finnentrop-Bamenohl on April 12, and a 1-1 draw at Wattenscheid 09 on March 28. Overall, Gievenbeck has won five, drawn two and lost three of its last 10 matches across all competitions.

R-W Ahlen, meanwhile, arrives on a three-match losing streak. The visitors were shut out 3-0 at SC Preussen Munster II on Tuesday, following a 3-1 home loss to Schermbeck on April 15 and a 2-1 defeat at home to Ennepetal on April 2. The team’s last positive result was a 2-1 road victory at Türkspor Dortmund 2000 on April 12. Prior to that, R-W Ahlen had dropped four of five matches, a stretch that included a 3-1 defeat at Vreden on March 29, a 3-1 home loss to Wattenscheid 09 on March 22, and a 2-0 home defeat to Victoria Clarholz on March 8. R-W Ahlen has managed just two wins in its last 10 matches, against Erkenschwick (1-0 on Feb. 22) and Türkspor Dortmund 2000.

The teams last met Nov. 8, 2025, when they played to a 1-1 draw in Ahlen. That result was the only head-to-head meeting in recent seasons.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Gievenbeck holds a slight edge, projected to win 2-1. The prediction accounts for home-field advantage and recent offensive output from Gievenbeck, which has scored at least two goals in six of its last 10 matches. R-W Ahlen, conversely, has been held scoreless in three of its last four outings.

Sunday’s match is part of the Oberliga, the fifth tier of German football. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time. The result could have implications for mid-table positioning as the season heads toward its final weeks.
