Talanta vs Naivas FC
NAIROBI, Kenya (Interstat) — Talanta hosts Naivas FC on Saturday in a Kenyan Super League match that pits two sides trending in opposite directions.
Talanta (9-5-8, 32 points) enters the April 25 fixture at home after a scoreless draw at MCF on April 19. That result extended Talanta’s winless streak to three matches, following a 2-0 loss at Equity Bank and a 2-1 defeat to Mwatate United. Talanta’s season has been uneven: a 5-1 thrashing of Kisumu All Stars in late February stands out, but the club has scored once or fewer in nine of its last 10 games.
Naivas FC (11-5-6, 38 points) dropped a 2-1 decision at home to 3K FC on April 18, snapping a three-match unbeaten run. Before that, Naivas earned a 2-1 win at Kibera Black Stars and a 3-3 draw with Fortune Sacco. Naivas sits fifth in the standings, six points behind leaders MCF, and holds a solid away record of 5-2-3.
The teams last met Dec. 20, when Naivas won 1-0 at Talanta. That result extended Naivas’ head-to-head edge; Talanta has not beaten Naivas since 2024.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
Naivas forward Michael Omari has been the team’s most consistent scorer, with four goals in his last seven appearances. Talanta midfielder Kevin Ochieng has two assists in that span but has not scored since March.
Talanta will be without injured defender James Kiprop (hamstring), while Naivas midfielder Peter Kamau is questionable with a knee issue.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 3 p.m. local time.
After this game, Naivas visits Compel SC on April 26, then hosts Darajani Gogo FC on May 3. Talanta hosts Mombasa United FC on April 26 before traveling to Kabati Youth FC on May 3.
