DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (Interstat) — Mtibwa Sugar hosts Dodoma Jiji on Wednesday, May 6, in a Ligi kuu Bara matchup at a site to be determined.

Both teams enter the game looking to rebound from recent defeats. Mtibwa Sugar lost 3-0 at home to azam FC on Saturday, its fifth loss in its past six matches. Dodoma Jiji played to a 0-0 draw at Namungo on Friday, its second consecutive result without a goal.

The teams played to a 0-0 draw in their most recent meeting Oct. 22, 2025. A computer simulation by Interstat projects a 1-1 final score.

Mtibwa Sugar (3-6-3 in its past 12 matches) has struggled for consistency. After a 2-1 win over Tanzania Prisons on Feb. 1, the team lost three straight – 3-1 to Mashujaa FC, 3-1 to Singida Black Stars and 3-0 to azam FC. A 1-1 draw with Young Africans SC on March 21 was followed by a 1-1 draw at Coastal Union on April 6, a 2-1 loss at Singida Fountain Gate FC on April 18 and the 3-0 loss to azam on May 2.

Dodoma Jiji (5-2-4 in its past 11 matches) has shown more resilience. After a 1-0 win over Tanzania Prisons on Jan. 21, the team lost 3-1 at Young Africans on Jan. 27. A 1-0 win at JKT Tanzania on Jan. 30 was followed by a 1-1 draw at Mbeya City on Feb. 3. The team then won three of four: 2-1 over Kinondoni Municipal Council on Feb. 8, 3-0 over TRA United SC on Feb. 12, and a 0-0 draw with Simba on Feb. 25 before a 3-0 loss at azam FC on March 11. A 3-0 win over Singida Fountain Gate FC on April 3 preceded a 3-1 loss at Coastal Union on April 15 and the 0-0 draw with Namungo.

Following Wednesday’s game, Dodoma Jiji travels to Pamba Jiji on May 10, hosts JKT Tanzania on May 14, hosts Mbeya City on May 20 and visits azam FC on May 23.

Mtibwa Sugar travels to Pamba Jiji on May 6, then visits Singida Black Stars on May 9, hosts Simba on May 14, visits Tanzania Prisons on May 20 and visits Namungo on May 23.
