Marsa improved to 1-0 in the competition and overall this season while Zarzis fell to 0-1 in both categories. The lone goal came early as Dao found the net to give the home side the lead, a margin they maintained through the remainder of the contest. Neither team added further scoring despite both sides creating opportunities. The result marked a winning start for Marsa in the Tunisian top-flight campaign.
