AFULA, Israel (Interstat) — Basil Khuri scored in the 47th minute and Eylon Elimelech equalized in first-half stoppage time as Hapoel Hadera and Hapoel Afula played to a 1‑1 draw Friday in a Liga Leumit match at Afula Illit Stadium.

(Interstat) — Khuri put the visitors ahead just after halftime, but Elimelech’s goal in the 90th-plus-first minute salvaged a point for the hosts.

Hapoel Afula now stands at 9 wins, 13 losses and 10 draws in league play. Hapoel Hadera’s league record is 6 wins, 16 losses and 11 draws.

The result matched Interstat’s pregame simulation of a 1-1 final.

Hapoel Afula had drawn 0-0 with Hapoel Ra’anana on Monday in its previous match. Hapoel Hadera entered the game after a 1-0 win over Ironi Modi’in on Tuesday.

The teams had split their two prior meetings this season, with Hapoel Hadera winning 1-0 in February and the sides playing to a 1-1 draw in October.

Hapoel Afula next faces Hap Nof HaGalil at home on May 15. Hapoel Hadera is scheduled to host Hapoel Ra’anana on May 14.
