Union St-Gilloise, Gent Stalemated in Scoreless Belgian First Division A Draw

BRUSSELS (Interstat) — Union St-Gilloise and visiting Gent played to a 0-0 draw in a Belgian First Division A match Wednesday at Stade Joseph Mariën.

The result left both clubs with identical records in league play this season. Neither side could break through in a match defined more by physicality than scoring chances. Gent’s Michał Skóraś received the first yellow card in the 16th minute, followed by bookings for teammates Tibe De Vlieger in the 62nd and Jean-Kevin Duverné in the 66th.

The shutout extends a trend for Gent, which has now been held scoreless in three of its last four matches across all competitions. Union St-Gilloise, despite its dominant overall season record, was unable to capitalize at home. The clubs have drawn both of their meetings this season.
