PAS Giannina vs Kampan Chalastras

PAS GIANNINA, Greece (Interstat) — PAS Giannina will host Kampan Chalastras on Sunday, April 26, in a Super League 2 matchup that carries significant implications for the lower half of the Greek second-division standings.

The game at Zosimades Stadium marks the fourth meeting between the two sides this season, with Kampan Chalastras holding a 2-1 edge in the series. The visitors earned a 3-2 home victory on March 14, and a 2-0 win on Dec. 20. PAS Giannina’s lone win came Oct. 19, a 3-0 shutout at home.

Kampan Chalastras enters the contest in poor form, having lost five of its last six matches. The team fell 4-3 on the road to Makedonikon Foufas on April 18, and has been outscored 13-6 in its last five outings. The visitors have managed just one win since November — the March 14 victory over Sunday’s opponent. Their season has featured defensive lapses, including a 4-1 loss at PAOK and a 4-1 defeat at Asteras Tripolis.

PAS Giannina also enters on a down note, falling 1-0 at Nest Chrisoupolis on Wednesday. However, the team had won three of its previous five, including a 3-1 victory at AO Karavas on April 18. The home side has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses throughout the spring, but has shown resilience at Zosimades Stadium, where it posted the 3-0 shutout of Kampan Chalastras in October.

Both teams have struggled to find offensive consistency. PAS Giannina has scored two or more goals in only two of its last 10 matches. Kampan Chalastras has been held scoreless in five of its last eight.

The head-to-head history suggests tight, low-scoring affairs. Three of the four meetings in the last 18 months have been decided by one goal. The lone exception was PAS Giannina’s 3-0 win.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw. The ELO-based model gives PAS Giannina a 73.6% probability of victory.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
