Late Dennis Goal Lifts Brondby Over Viborg in Superliga Match
VIBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Substitute Emmanuel Dennis scored in the first minute of second-half stoppage time to give Brondby a 1-0 victory over Viborg in the Danish Superliga on Wednesday.
The match at Energi Viborg Arena appeared destined for a draw until Dennis broke through in the 91st minute. The goal was assisted by fellow substitute Ben Godfrey. The contest was a physical affair, with six yellow cards issued by the referee, four of them to Brondby players.
The result avenges Brondby’s loss to Viborg in March and improves its league record to 12 wins, nine losses and one draw. Viborg’s record fell to 9-10-1. Brondby’s next match is in the UEFA Europa Conference League on May 3.
