Krieschow vs Union Sandersdorf
KRIESCHOW, Germany (Interstat) — Krieschow will host Union Sandersdorf on Friday, May 1, in an Oberliga clash that pits two sides searching for consistency in Germany’s fifth-tier regional league.
Krieschow enters the match on a mixed run of form. On April 25, it drew 1-1 at Auerbach, a result that followed a 5-1 home thrashing of Germ Halberstadt on April 18. But that win was preceded by three consecutive losses: 3-1 at VfL Halle, 2-1 at Grün-Weiß Lübben and 2-1 at Einheit Wernigerode. Krieschow’s season has been a roller coaster — its April 6 win at Einheit Wernigerode (2-1) was bookended by a 3-0 home loss to Budissa Bautzen on April 4 and a 6-1 rout of Motor Marienberg on March 22. Other results include a 2-1 loss at SC Freital, a 1-0 win over Einh Rudolstadt, a 1-0 loss at Plauen and a 4-3 defeat at Heiligenstadt.
Union Sandersdorf has struggled mightily. Its most recent outing was a 2-1 loss at RSV Eintracht 1949 on April 25. That defeat was the sixth in its last eight matches. On April 18, Auerbach beat Sandersdorf 1-0 at home. A scoreless draw at 1. FC Lok Stendal on April 15 was followed by a 3-1 loss at Germ Halberstadt on April 12. Sandersdorf also fell 2-0 at home to VfL Halle on April 4 and 3-1 at Budissa Bautzen on March 22. A 4-0 loss at Einheit Wernigerode on March 18 was sandwiched between a 1-0 win at SC Freital on March 14 and a 1-0 loss at Einh Rudolstadt on March 8. Other results include a 2-2 draw with Plauen, a 3-1 win at Heiligenstadt and a 2-1 win over Auerbach earlier in the season.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Krieschow. The home side has shown an ability to score in bursts — six goals against Motor Marienberg, five against Germ Halberstadt — but has also been porous defensively, conceding four to Heiligenstadt and three to VfL Halle. Sandersdorf, meanwhile, has managed only one win in its last 10 league matches and has been shut out four times in that span.
The match kicks off at a time to be determined. Both teams sit in the lower half of the Oberliga table, with Krieschow hoping to build on its recent draw and Sandersdorf desperate to end a slide that has seen it drop points in seven of its last eight outings.
