ESC Geestemunde vs Hemelingen
BREMERHAVEN, Germany (Interstat) — ESC Geestemunde will host Hemelingen on Sunday, April 26, in an Oberliga matchup that pits a home side searching for consistency against a visiting team riding a wave of recent dominance.
The game at 2 p.m. local time marks the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. In their most recent clash Nov. 8, 2025, Hemelingen cruised to a 4-1 victory at home. That result highlighted a trend that has continued into the spring: Hemelingen has been one of the league’s most potent attacks.
Visiting coach Nils Becker’s squad enters Sunday on a three-game winning streak, outscoring opponents 13-1 over that span. Most recently, Hemelingen defeated Habenhauser FV 5-1 on April 19, following a 4-0 shutout of FC Union 60 Bremen on April 16 and a 4-0 win at FC Oberneuland on April 2. The only blemishes in their past 10 Oberliga matches are a 2-1 loss at BTS Neustadt on March 28 and a 2-1 defeat to Schwachhausen on March 14. Overall, Hemelingen has shown a capacity for explosive scoring, routing Leher TS 4-0 on March 15, topping OSC Bremerhaven 3-1 on March 8, and thrashing Sebaldsbrueck 7-3 on Dec. 13.
ESC Geestemunde, by contrast, has struggled to string together wins. After a 4-1 victory over Eiche Horn on April 15, the home side followed with a 2-1 loss at Sebaldsbrueck on April 2 and a 5-1 defeat at Werder Bremen III on March 28. Geestemunde’s recent form includes a 5-3 loss to Leher TS on March 22, a 5-2 defeat at OSC Bremerhaven on March 13, and a 3-2 loss to Blumenthaler SV on March 8. The team’s best result in recent weeks was a 2-1 win at Schwachhausen on March 7, but they followed that with a 4-0 loss at BTS Neustadt on March 6.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-2 victory for Hemelingen, a forecast that aligns with the visitors’ scoring output and Geestemunde’s defensive struggles. The home side has allowed at least three goals in five of its past six Oberliga matches.
Kickoff Sunday at the Stadion an der Leher Heerstraße in Bremerhaven.
