FLORENCE, Italy (Interstat) — Fiorentina Women host FC Como Women on Sunday, May 3, in a Serie A Women matchup that carries playoff implications for both sides.
The game kicks off at a venue to be announced, with Fiorentina seeking to bounce back from a 2-2 draw at Ternana Femminile on April 26. The result extended Fiorentina’s winless streak to three matches, following a 2-1 loss to Juventus on April 4 and a 0-0 draw with Parma on March 22.
Fiorentina (5-7-5, 22 points) sits midtable, but a victory could lift them into playoff contention. Coach Sebastiano La Licata’s squad has struggled for consistency, with only two wins in their last 10 outings. Their defense has been porous, conceding 11 goals over that span.
FC Como Women arrive with momentum from a 1-1 draw against Parma on April 25, snapping a two-game losing streak. The visitors had fallen 4-3 at AS Roma on April 3 and played to a 0-0 stalemate at AC Milan on March 22.
Como (6-6-5, 24 points) sits just above Fiorentina in the table and could move into the top four with a win. Coach Stefano Sottili’s side has shown resilience, earning draws in four of their last six matches. However, they have not defeated Fiorentina since September 2024.
The teams met most recently on Dec. 13, 2025, when Fiorentina won 3-1 at Como. That result continued Fiorentina’s dominance in the rivalry: they have won four of the last five meetings, with Como’s lone victory coming in a 2-1 decision in February 2025.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, reflecting the teams’ similar form. Both sides have struggled to score consistently: Fiorentina averages 1.1 goals per game, while Como averages 1.0.
Fiorentina will be without midfielder Giulia Bagnoli, who is nursing a hamstring injury. Forward Valentina Giacinti leads the team with seven goals. For Como, striker Agnese Bonfantini has scored five times this season, including the equalizer against Parma.
After Sunday, Fiorentina travel to Genoa on May 9. Como host Inter Milan the same weekend.
The Serie A Women season concludes in late May, with the top six advancing to the Scudetto playoff round.
