Celta Vigo vs Levante

MADRID (Interstat) — Celta Vigo hosts Levante on Tuesday, May 12, in a La Liga matchup at Abanca-Balaídos, with both teams looking to build momentum in the final weeks of the season.

Celta enters the match on the back of a 1-0 victory at Atletico Madrid on Saturday, a result that pushed the Galician side into the top half of the table. The win continued a mixed run for Celta, which has gone 3-1-3 in its last seven games. Earlier this month, Celta routed Elche 3-1 on May 3, but also suffered a 3-0 loss at Real Oviedo on April 12 and a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona on April 22.

Levante, meanwhile, arrives after a 3-2 win at Osasuna on Friday, a result that snapped a three-game winless streak. The victory moved Levante to 10th place, just four points behind Celta. However, Levante has been inconsistent, with a 5-1 loss at Villarreal on May 2 and a 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on April 4 among its recent setbacks.

In the most recent head-to-head meeting, Celta defeated Levante 2-1 on Nov. 2, 2025. That result extended Celta’s edge in the series, but Levante has shown resilience in recent away matches, with wins at Sevilla and Osasuna.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, a result that would likely keep both teams in the middle of the pack. Celta has been strong at home, with a 7-4-4 record at Balaídos this season, while Levante has struggled on the road, going 4-5-6.

Celta will face Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, May 17, while Levante hosts Mallorca the same day. Both teams are safely above the relegation zone but have slim hopes of climbing into European qualification spots.

Celta manager Claudio Giraldez could stick with the lineup that beat Atletico, while Levante’s coach Julian Calero will likely rely on forward Jose Luis Morales, who scored twice in the win over Osasuna.

Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. local time.
