KF Adriatiku 2012 vs Kelcyra

KELCYRA, Albania (Interstat) — Kelcyra travels to KF Adriatiku 2012 on Sunday, April 26, in an Albanian 2nd Division matchup that pits two struggling sides against each other at opposite ends of the table.

Kelcyra enters the match with a 1-0 loss at Partizani Tirana II on April 19, its fourth defeat in the past six games. The team sits mid-table with a 6-7-10 record, its most recent victory a 3-2 win at Maliqi on March 22. Kelcyra has shown scoring ability, notching two or more goals in four of its past seven matches, but defensive lapses have been costly, including a 5-0 loss at Bylis II on Feb. 8.

KF Adriatiku 2012, by contrast, is anchored at the bottom of the division. The home side lost 6-0 at Luzi 2008 on April 18, its ninth straight defeat and 10th loss in the past 11 games. Adriatiku has been outscored 52-3 during that stretch, including a 9-1 drubbing by Beselidhja Lezhe on April 4 and a 9-0 loss at KF Shiroka on Feb. 7. Its only bright spot this season was a 1-0 win — its only victory — but inconsistent play has left the club with a 1-1-18 record.

Sunday’s game at 3 p.m. local time offers Adriatiku a rare opportunity to climb off the bottom, but the numbers favor the visitors. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Kelcyra 2, KF Adriatiku 2012 1.

Kelcyra will rely on a balanced attack that produced wins over Delvina (3-2) and Tomori Berat (2-0) earlier this season. Adriatiku’s defense, which has conceded at least five goals in eight of its last nine matches, will need a drastic turnaround to contain a Kelcyra side that has scored in seven of its past eight games.

The matchup marks the second meeting between the clubs this season; Kelcyra won the first encounter 2-0 at home on Nov. 2. Adriatiku has not scored a goal in its past four home matches, a streak dating to a 1-1 draw vs. Naftetari Kucove on Feb. 15.

With only four matches remaining in the regular season, both teams have little margin for error. Kelcyra looks to solidify its standing, while Adriatiku fights to avoid a last-place finish. Kickoff is set for Sunday at the stadium in KF Adriatiku’s home base.
