SESTRI LEVANTE, Italy (Interstat) — Ternana opened its Serie C campaign with a 2-1 victory over AC Bra on Saturday, overcoming a late deficit at Stadio Giuseppe Sivori.

Stefano Pettinari gave Ternana the lead in the 40th minute, but Marco Capuano equalized for the hosts in second-half stoppage time. Simone Leonardi secured the win for the visitors with a decisive goal in the 91st minute.

The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat, which simulated a 1-1 draw and gave Ternana a 54 percent probability to win. Ternana begins the season 1-0, while AC Bra starts 0-1.
