GDYNIA, Poland (Interstat) — Nieciecza defeated Arka Gdynia 3-2 on Monday at Stadion Miejski in an Ekstraklasa season opener. Damian Hilbrycht opened the scoring in the 12th minute, assisted by Maciej Wolski. Eduardo Espiau equalized for Arka in first-half stoppage time, but Vladislavs Gutkovskis restored Nieciecza’s lead in the 52nd minute. Arkadiusz Kasparkiewicz leveled for Arka in the 74th minute before Ivan Durdov netted the winner in the third minute of second-half stoppage time, with Artem Putivtsev providing the assist.

Hilbrycht finished with a goal and an assist, as did Kasparkiewicz, who also received a yellow card in the 25th minute. Kike Hermoso was cautioned in the 38th minute and Wolski in the 42nd. Hilbrycht and Putivtsev also drew yellows in the 65th and 80th minutes, respectively.

Nieciecza improved to 1-0 in the competition and overall, while Arka fell to 0-1 in both.
