RC Strasbourg Alsace vs Rayo Vallecano
STRASBOURG, France (Interstat) — RC Strasbourg Alsace hosts Rayo Vallecano on Thursday in a Europa League match, seeking to reverse a recent loss to the Spanish side.
The game at Stade de la Meinau is scheduled for May 7, 2026.
Strasbourg (0-1-0 in Europa League group play) comes off a 2-1 defeat to Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Sunday. The French club has lost three of its last five matches across all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat to Stade Rennais on April 19 and a 2-0 loss to Mainz in Europa League play on April 9.
Rayo Vallecano (1-0-0) enters on a two-match winning streak. The Madrid-based club defeated Getafe 2-0 on Sunday in La Liga, following a 1-0 victory over Strasbourg in the teams’ most recent meeting April 30 in Spain.
That head-to-head result extended Rayo’s recent dominance. The Spanish side has won three of its last four matches, with its only blemish a 3-0 loss to Mallorca on April 12. Rayo also posted a 3-0 win over AEK in Europa League play April 9 and a 1-0 victory over Elche on April 3.
Strasbourg has struggled for offensive consistency, scoring just three goals in its last five matches. The team managed only one goal in its last two Europa League fixtures, a 2-0 loss to Mainz and the 1-0 defeat to Rayo.
The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
Strasbourg will look to midfielder Habib Diallo, who scored in the team’s 3-2 win over Nantes on March 22. Rayo counters with forward Randy Nteka, who scored in the April 30 victory over Strasbourg.
Following Thursday’s match, Strasbourg travels to Angers on May 10 before hosting Monaco on May 17. Rayo returns to La Liga play against Girona on May 11 before visiting Valencia on May 14.
Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. local time.
