Inter Milan vs Parma
AP Sports Preview
MILAN (Interstat) — Inter Milan hosts Parma on Sunday, May 3, in a Serie A matchup at San Siro, with both teams looking to build on mixed recent results.
Inter (second in the table entering play) is coming off a 2-2 draw at Torino on April 26. That result followed a 3-0 loss at Torino on April 18. The Nerazzurri have been inconsistent: they beat Como 4-3 on April 12, lost to Atalanta 2-0 on April 11, and drew Atalanta 0-0 on April 6. Inter’s recent run also includes a 5-2 victory over Roma on April 5 and a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on March 22. They have three wins, three draws and two losses in their last eight matches.
Inter’s defense has been vulnerable at times, and the team has struggled to maintain momentum. Midfielder Nicolo Barella remains a key creative force, and forward Lautaro Martinez leads the attack.
Parma enters the match after a 1-0 win over Pisa on April 25, a result that snapped a two-match winless run. The Ducali beat Udinese 1-0 on April 18, drew Napoli 1-1 on April 12, and drew Lazio 1-1 on April 4. Parma has been steady but not spectacular, with five draws and two losses in their last seven matches. They lost 4-1 to Cremonese on March 23 and drew 2-2 with Bari on March 22 before beating Sampdoria 2-0 on the same day.
The most recent head-to-head meeting was Jan. 7, won by Inter 2-0 at Parma. Inter has won two of the last three meetings. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
Both clubs face busy schedules. Inter plays at Lazio on May 9 and again at Lazio on May 13. Parma hosts Roma on May 10.
Kickoff is set for 8:45 p.m. local time.
