CHLEF, Algeria (April 17, 2026) (Interstat) — ASO Chlef opened its Algerian Ligue 1 season with a 1-0 victory over Oued Akbou on Friday at Stade Mohamed Boumezrag, defying a statistical projection that favored the visitors.

The lone goal came from defender Abdelhak Debbari, who also contributed an assist in the match. His performance anchored a win that improved Chlef’s league record to 1-0-0, while Oued Akbou fell to 0-1-0.

The match was contentious, featuring seven yellow cards issued by the officiating crew. The result contradicted a pre-game simulator prediction of an Oued Akbou victory, though a separate Elo rating system had given Chlef a slight edge to win.
