AL-MAHALLA AL-KUBRA, Egypt (Interstat) — Ghazl El Mahalla SC opened its Egyptian Premier League season with a narrow 1-0 victory over El Gouna on Wednesday at El Mahalla Stadium.

The match’s lone goal came in the 75th minute when defender Ahmed El Aesh scored. The decisive play involved multiple contributors, with assists credited to substitutes Hafiz Ibrahim and Nour El Sayed, along with midfielder Mahmoud Nabil and defender Yehia Zakaria.

The contest was a physical affair, producing five yellow cards. El Gouna, which has yet to win in league play this season, managed only a draw in the previous meeting between the clubs last August. Ghazl El Mahalla SC begins its league campaign with a win.
