Preview: US Biskra Hosts NC Magra in Algerian Ligue 2 Clash

ALGIERS, Algeria (Interstat) — A mid-table Algerian Ligue 2 fixture sees US Biskra host NC Magra on Friday, with both sides seeking consistency in the final stretch of the season.

The match at Stade du 18 Février in Biskra is a rematch of a November encounter, which the hosts won 1-0 on the road. That result forms part of a mixed recent run for both clubs.

US Biskra (8-6-9) enters following a disappointing 3-0 away loss to USM Annaba on April 4. That defeat snapped a three-game winning streak in league play, which included victories over AS Khroub, Jeun Menaiel and Beni Oulbane. Their home form has been stronger, losing just once in their last five domestic outings at their stadium.

NC Magra (6-9-8) arrives with a bit more momentum, coming off a 2-1 home victory over CA Batna on April 4. That win helped alleviate the sting of a three-match winless run prior. However, Magra’s road form presents a concern; the club has not won away from home in the league since Jan. 2, a stretch featuring four draws and two losses.

Statistical analysis from Interstat projects a tightly contested draw, with a final score of 1-1.

The history between the two sides is brief but recent. Their only meeting this season was the aforementioned 1-0 victory for US Biskra in Magra.

Following this contest, both teams have quick turnarounds. US Biskra will travel to face MSP Batna next Tuesday, April 14. NC Magra will host Teleghma on the same date.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time (1500 GMT).
