PALMA DE MALLORCA, Spain (Interstat) — Mallorca and Valencia opened their La Liga campaigns with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

Midfielder Samu Costa gave the hosts the lead in the 49th minute. Valencia substitute Sadiq Umar leveled the match in the 67th minute, assisted by fellow substitute Guido Rodríguez. Both teams finished the match with one yellow card each.

The result leaves both clubs with identical records of one draw and no wins to start the season across all competitions. The draw aligned with the pregame projection from Interstat, which heavily favored Mallorca to win.
