Pyunik vs Urartu
YEREVAN (Interstat) — Nicholas Kaloukian scored in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to lift Pyunik to a 2-1 victory over Urartu on Thursday at Yerevan Football Academy in an Armenian Premier League match.
Momo Yansané put Pyunik ahead in the fourth minute, slotting home from close range after a scramble in the box. Urartu equalized in the 64th minute when Serhii Vakulenko curled a free kick over the wall and inside the far post. The match appeared headed for a draw until Kaloukian collected a loose ball in the area and fired a left-footed shot past Urartu goalkeeper Arman Meliksetyan in the 90th plus second minute.
Pyunik improved to 13 wins, five losses and three draws in league play this season, while Urartu dropped to 11 wins, six losses and five draws. Across all competitions, Pyunik holds an 18-8-5 record; Urartu is 13-8-7.
The victory gave Pyunik a measure of revenge after Urartu won the teams’ previous league meeting 2-1 on Aug. 29, 2025. Their earlier encounter this season ended in a 1-1 draw on Nov. 21, 2025.
