ZED vs Pyramids
CAIRO (Interstat) — ZED hosts Pyramids in an Egypt Cup matchup Sunday, May 10, 2026, with both sides aiming to build momentum in the knockout competition.
ZED enters the match on a two-game winning streak, most recently defeating Haras El Hodood 2-1 on May 7. The victory followed a 1-0 win over Pharco on April 28. However, ZED has been inconsistent this season, with losses to National Bank of Egypt (2-1), El Ittihad (2-1) and Petrojet (2-1) amid a stretch of mixed results.
Pyramids, coming off a 1-1 draw at Ceramica Cleopatra on May 5, have been strong on the road. They have won six of their last seven away matches, including a 3-0 victory at El Ahly SC on April 27 and a 3-2 win at ENPPI on May 1. Their only recent loss came April 23 at Zamalek (1-0).
The teams last met Sept. 18, 2025, when Pyramids won 1-0 at home. That result extended Pyramids’ recent dominance in the series.
One player to watch for ZED is forward Sulahmana Bah. He made a substitute appearance in ZED’s 1-0 win over Pharco on April 28, logging minutes off the bench. Bah’s pace and work rate could be key against a Pyramids defense that has kept clean sheets in five of its last nine matches.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, suggesting a tightly contested affair.
Pyramids will face Smouha SC on May 20 in Egyptian Premier League play after Sunday’s cup clash.
Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday in Cairo.
