SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO, Italy (April 4, 2026) (Interstat) — US Sambenedettese opened its Serie C campaign with a 1-0 victory over SS Arezzo on Saturday, defying pre-match projections. The lone goal came in the 79th minute when Umberto Eusepi found the net at Stadio Riviera delle Palme. The result was an upset; statistical models heavily favored the visitors, giving Arezzo a 69.1% probability to win and projecting a 1-0 victory for them. Instead, the home side secured three points. Sambenedettese begins the season with a win, while Arezzo starts with a loss in domestic league play.
