AALBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Aalborg BK and Hobro IK meet Friday in a pivotal 2. Division matchup at Aalborg Portland Park, with both sides jostling for position in the Danish third-tier standings.

The series has been tightly contested this season. Aalborg earned a 1-0 victory at home against Hobro on April 10, but Hobro responded with a 1-0 win of its own on March 14. The first meeting of the campaign, Aug. 1, 2025, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Both teams are navigating busy schedules. Aalborg has outscored opponents 12-8 over its last five contests. Hobro has been more inconsistent, with two wins, two losses and a draw in that span.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Aalborg, but recent history suggests little separation between the sides. Each team has won once at home in the series this season.

Friday’s result could carry weight beyond the table. Both clubs have key matchups ahead. Aalborg hosts Middelfart on May 8 before traveling to B93 Kobenhavn on May 15. Hobro returns home to face B93 Kobenhavn on May 8, followed by a visit from Aarhus Fremad on May 14.
