Volos NFC, OFI Set for Super League 1 Clash

VOLOS, Greece (Interstat) — Volos NFC will host OFI on Sunday in a Super League 1 match with both sides looking to build momentum as the Greek season enters its final stretch.

The match at the Panthessaliko Stadium kicks off at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT).

The head-to-head advantage belongs to the hosts, who earned a 1-0 victory in Crete in the teams’ most recent meeting on Nov. 29. That result is part of a challenging recent run for OFI (9-7-10), which is coming off a heavy 4-1 road loss to league-leader Panathinaikos on March 4.

Despite that setback, OFI’s form has been largely positive in 2026. The club from Heraklion has lost just twice in its last ten domestic matches, a stretch that includes impressive wins over AEK Athens and a 3-0 victory over AE Larissa. Their attack has been potent, scoring three or more goals in four of those contests.

Volos (5-9-12), however, has struggled for consistency. Its last outing was a creditable 2-2 home draw with powerhouse AEK Athens on March 1, but that followed a run of only one win in its previous seven league matches. Defensive solidity has been an issue, with the team conceding two or more goals in five of those games.

The statistical outlook points to a tight affair. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

A win for OFI could bolster its position in the top half of the table as it eyes potential European qualification. For Volos, mired in the lower half, securing three points at home is critical to creating distance from the relegation zone.

Key players to watch include OFI’s forwards, who have fueled its high-scoring performances this year, and Volos’s defense, which must contain them to have a chance at replicating its November shutout.

Sunday’s match is the only Super League 1 fixture scheduled for April 5.
