KOLOSSI, Cyprus (April 8, 2026) (Interstat) — Pafos defeated Aris Lemesou 2-1 in a Cyprus Cup match Wednesday at Alphamega Stadium. The visitors overcame a statistical projection that favored them to win more decisively.

Pafos opened the scoring in the 38th minute on a goal by Jajá. Zakaria Sawo doubled the lead just before halftime, scoring in the third minute of stoppage time. Aris Lemesou scored its lone goal in the second half.

The result defied a pregame simulation that projected a 1-1 draw. Pafos began its Cup campaign with a victory, while Aris Lemesou started with a loss.
