NICOSIA, Cyprus (Interstat) — AS Omonoia Leukosias defeated rival APOEL 2-0 on Saturday in a 1. Division match at Neo GSP stadium, bolstering its title credentials.

Ryan Mmaee opened the scoring in the seventh minute, followed quickly by a goal from Ewandro in the 12th. The early flurry secured the victory for the dominant home side. APOEL, which defeated Omonoia 1-0 in February, failed to mount a serious response.

The result extends Omonoia’s strong domestic campaign, while APOEL’s struggles continued. The match drew a significant crowd to the venue in Strovolos for the latest chapter in Cypriot football’s premier rivalry.
