Eyupspor Edges Fatih Karagümrük in Season Opener

ISTANBUL (Interstat) — Eyupspor opened its Süper Lig campaign with a 2-1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük on Saturday at Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı.

The visitors rallied after conceding an early goal. Fatih Karagümrük’s Serginho opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but Eyupspor responded before halftime. Matías Kranevitter equalized in the 39th minute, and substitute Mateusz Łęgowski netted the winner just five minutes later.

The match featured a 78th-minute red card shown to Fatih Karagümrük’s Seyfettin Anıl Yaşar. Eyupspor, projected narrowly as a favorite pre-match, defied a simulator’s prediction of a draw to start the season with a win.
