Partizani Tirana vs FC Dinamo City
TIRANA, Albania (Interstat) — Partizani Tirana hosts FC Dinamo City on Sunday in an Albanian 1st Division matchup that carries playoff implications for both sides. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at the Air Albania Stadium.
The teams have split their last three meetings. Partizani won the most recent clash 2-0 on March 9, avenging a 3-1 loss at Dinamo City on Dec. 23. Dinamo City also posted a 2-0 home victory Oct. 29.
Partizani enters the weekend on a downturn after a 2-0 loss at Egnatia Rrogozhine on Wednesday, its third defeat in four league matches. The Reds have dropped five of their last seven league games overall, including a 4-1 loss to Flamurtari and a 2-1 defeat to city rival KF Tirana. A bright spot came in a 1-0 win over Universitatea Cluj on May 1 in the Albanian Cup semifinal first leg.
Dinamo City, meanwhile, earned a 2-2 draw at Vora on Wednesday, its third consecutive result in league play without a win. The visitors have drawn four of their last six league matches. Their most recent victory came May 2, a 2-0 decision over Egnatia Rrogozhine. Before that, Dinamo City suffered a 3-1 loss at Flamurtari on April 27.
A simulator run by the sports analytics firm Interstat projects a 1-1 draw.
The match is the second-to-last of the regular season for both clubs. Partizani sits mid-table but is within striking distance of a top-four finish. Dinamo City is slightly behind in the standings and needs points to climb away from the relegation zone.
After Sunday, Dinamo City travels to Egnatia Rrogozhine for an Albanian Cup quarterfinal first leg on May 13.
Partizani will close its regular season next week against an opponent to be determined.
