PRUSZKÓW, Poland (Interstat) — Pogon Siedlce earned a 2-0 away victory over Grod Mazowiecki in I Liga play Sunday at Stadion Znicza, defying statistical projections.

Marcin Flis opened the scoring in the 36th minute, and Karol Nojszewski added a second goal in the 68th to secure the win. The result halted Siedlce’s two-game losing skid in league play and avenged a 2-1 home loss to Grod Mazowiecki from Oct. 4.

The home side failed to score despite being heavily favored. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 2-1 win for Grod Mazowiecki, whose ELO probability to win was 77.30%.

With the win, Pogon Siedlce’s season record in the I Liga improves. Grod Mazowiecki’s record in the competition now stands at 11 wins, 8 losses and 11 draws.
