Rak Czestochowa vs Cracovia

CZESTOCHOWA, Poland (Interstat) — Patryk Makuch scored twice to lead Rak Czestochowa to a commanding 4-1 victory over Cracovia in an Ekstraklasa match Sunday at zondacrypto Arena.

The result avenged a 2-0 loss to Cracovia from the reverse fixture in October and provided a significant boost to Rak Czestochowa’s league campaign.

The home side took control late in the first half. Makuch opened the scoring in the 39th minute, finishing a move to give Rak Czestochowa a lead it would not relinquish. The match’s momentum shifted decisively just before halftime when Cracovia’s Amir Al Ammari was shown a straight red card in the 45th minute, forcing the visitors to play a man down for the entire second half.

Cracovia’s Boško Šutalo had received a yellow card in the 43rd minute, and Isak Brusberg was booked for the visitors in the 57th.

Despite the disadvantage, Cracovia found an equalizer shortly after the break. Dijon Kameri scored in the 50th minute to temporarily level the match at 1-1.

The parity was short-lived. Makuch struck again for his brace in the 60th minute, restoring Rak Czestochowa’s lead. Isak Brusberg was credited with an assist on the play. With Cracovia stretched thin, Rak Czestochowa sealed the victory in stoppage time. Leonardo Rocha found the net in the first minute of added time to produce the final 4-1 margin. Cracovia’s Gustav Henriksson received a yellow card in the 90th minute just prior to the goal.

The lopsided score defied the pregame projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw. The same analytics system had given Rak Czestochowa a 77.80 percent probability to win the match.

The victory improves Rak Czestochowa’s Ekstraklasa record to 14 wins, 12 losses and 10 draws this season. Their record across all competitions now stands at 20 wins, 13 losses and 10 draws. The loss leaves Cracovia with a league record of 13 wins, 13 losses and 11 draws, mirroring their overall mark across all competitions.

Cracovia entered the match following a 2-2 draw with Arka Gdynia on April 12, but had suffered heavy defeats to Lech Poznan and Gornik Zabrze in early April. Rak Czestochowa came in after a 1-1 draw at Motor Lublin on April 12 and a 1-1 home draw with Widzew Lodz on April 4.

Rak Czestochowa’s next match is Saturday at Lechia Gdansk in league play. Cracovia is scheduled to play next on Sunday at Slask Wroclaw.
