ANKARA, Turkiye (Interstat) — Goztepe opened its Süper Lig season with a 2-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği SK at Eryaman Stadyumu on Saturday, April 4, 2026, fueled by second-half substitutes.

The visitors broke a projected 1-1 deadlock after halftime. Substitute Malcom Bokélé was instrumental, scoring a goal and adding an assist. His cross set up fellow substitute Novatus Dismas for the opening goal in the 58th minute before Bokélé sealed the win in the 74th.

The match was a physical affair, featuring eight yellow cards. Goztepe’s defense held firm for a clean sheet, defying Interstat’s pre-match projection that heavily favored them to win. The result gives Goztepe a winning start in league play, while Gençlerbirliği begins with a loss.
