Fiorentina vs Sassuolo

FIORENTINA-SASSUOLO PREVIEW

FLORENCE, Italy (Interstat) — Fiorentina hosts Sassuolo on Sunday in a Serie A matchup with significant positioning implications for both clubs.

The game, set for April 26, 2026, at Stadio Artemio Franchi, features two teams trending in opposite directions against each other. Sassuolo has won the last two head-to-head meetings, including a 2-1 victory at Fiorentina just eight days ago on April 18.

Sassuolo enters with momentum. That win over Fiorentina was part of a three-match unbeaten streak in league play. The Neroverdi followed the victory with a 2-1 win at Como on April 17, improving their record to four wins in their last five Serie A matches. The only blemish during that stretch was a 2-1 loss at Genoa on April 12.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, has struggled for consistency. The Viola played to a 1-1 draw at Lecce on Monday, their last outing. That result followed the home loss to Sassuolo and a 1-0 victory over Lazio on April 13. Fiorentina’s form has been erratic, with alternating wins and losses over the past month.

The recent head-to-head history favors Sassuolo. In addition to this month’s win, Sassuolo defeated Fiorentina 3-1 on Dec. 6, 2025. The visitors will look to extend that dominance.

Sassuolo’s attack has been productive, scoring in nine of its last 10 Serie A matches. The defensive record is less consistent, having conceded in four of those contests.

Fiorentina’s offense has been unreliable. The Viola have scored more than one goal only twice in their last seven league matches, a 4-0 win over Roma on March 28 and a 4-1 victory over Cremonese on March 16. In between, the club suffered defensive lapses, including a 5-2 loss to Sampdoria on March 27.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Following Sunday’s match, Sassuolo faces AC Milan on May 3. Fiorentina travels to AS Roma on May 4.
