Substitutes Lead Inter Milan to Wild Serie A Win Over Como

COMO, Italy (Interstat) — Substitute forwards Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries each scored twice as Inter Milan outlasted Como 4-3 in a chaotic Serie A match Sunday at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

The visitors surged ahead with three goals in a stunning four-minute span just before halftime. Como defender Álex Valle opened the scoring in the 36th, but Inter’s Nicolás Paz equalized in the 45th. Thuram then struck twice in quick succession, in first-half stoppage time and the 49th minute, to give Inter a 3-1 lead.

Dumfries, also introduced off the bench, extended the lead with goals in the 58th and 72nd minutes. Como’s Valle and Lucas Da Cunha scored to pull the hosts within one, but Inter held on through a frenetic finish that featured 10 yellow cards. The result defied a pregame projection that favored a draw.
