Spain U19 Dominates Hungary in UEFA Qualifying Opener

OEIRAS, Portugal (Interstat) — Spain’s under-19 women’s national team opened its UEFA Championship qualification campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Hungary on Sunday at Estádio Nacional.

Midfielder Rosalía Domínguez opened the scoring in the 30th minute. Spain controlled the match but did not add to its lead until late, with Ainoa Gómez scoring in the 86th minute and Iris Ashley Santiago sealing the win in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Julia Torres and Hungary’s Panna Sági provided assists, and each also received a yellow card.

The result exceeded statistical projections, which heavily favored Spain but forecast a closer match. Spain begins the European qualifying group with a win, while Hungary starts with a loss.
