BORÅS, Sweden (Interstat) — Italy’s under-19 women’s national team maintained its perfect record in UEFA Championship qualification with a 2-0 victory over Ukraine U19 on Saturday at Borås Arena.

The match turned in Italy’s favor after Ukraine was reduced to 10 players in the 39th minute following a red card to Uliana Soloviova. Italy broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when defender Caterina Venturelli scored. Midfielder Eleonora Ferraresi added a second goal six minutes later, assisted by Olena Martseniuk.

Ukraine’s Martseniuk and Viktoriia Savkina, along with Italy’s Rachele Giudici, received yellow cards. Italy improved to 3-0-0 in the qualifying group, while Ukraine’s record moved to 2-1-1. The result exceeded a pregame statistical projection that had favored Italy but forecast a draw.
